Star Tribune names Klingensmith publisher, CEO

<div id="subtitle">Star Tribune names former Sports Illustrated president Klingensmith paper's new publisher, CEO</div><div><p>The Star Tribune has named a former Time Inc. executive as the Minneapolis newspaper's publisher and CEO.</p><p>During his more than 30 years with Time Inc., Michael J. Klingensmith was president of Sports Illustrated, founding publisher of Entertainment Weekly and general manager of Time magazine.</p><p>Announcing the appointment Thursday, Star Tribune board chair Mike Sweeney called Klingensmith "one of the top publishing executives in the country."</p><p>The 57-year-old Klingensmith grew up in Fridley, a Minneapolis suburb.</p><p>He starts his new job Monday.</p><p>The Star Tribune emerged from bankruptcy protection last September, with the paper's main lenders becoming its new owners.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=66508982&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
