MICHAEL CRICHTON (Oct 23, 1942 - Nov 4, 2008), died of cancer in LA, at 66. American author, film director, medical doctor, and television producer best known for his science fiction and techno-thriller novels, films, and television programs. Most famous for being the author of Jurassic Park, and its sequel The Lost World, both adapted into high grossing movies. Over 150 million book copies have sold worldwide. Novels have medical or scientific underpinnings, reflecting his medical training and science background. Author of The Andromeda Strain, Congo, Disclosure, Rising Sun, Timeline, State of Fear and Prey. Crichton created the international super hit TV hospital drama series 'E.R.'. Just before he passed away, his final book, NEXT, hit bookstores.
